Expert Workshop on the Industrial Accelerator Act
German Economic Institute (IW)
The German Economic Institute (IW) and Frontier Economics are pleased to invite you to a rapporteur & stakeholder workshop on the Industrial Accelerator Act (IAA) in Brussels.
Following the parliamentary summer recess and with a draft report on the table, the IAA has entered a decisive phase of compromise negotiations ahead of the committee votes and subsequent trilogues. This workshop will bring together rapporteurs across political groups and their parliamentary teams, alongside academic experts and selected industry representatives for an evidence-based exchange.
After an initial assessment of the IAA's legislative status and key political debates, the external trade and investment dimension of the IAA, including the scope and limits of non-tariff instruments and European reference, will be examined.
An analysis of the lead market provisions, public procurement criteria, and their practical implications for energy-intensive industries as well as net-zero technologies will follow.
